Max Allegri ‘agrees deal with great English club’ amid Man Utd links – Mirror Online
Allegri stood down from his role as Juve head coach last summer having guided the Turin giants to five successive Serie A titles.
But there has been speculation Juventus want him back as pressure mounts on his replacement, Maurizio Sarri.
AC Milan had also been linked with a move for Allegri – but Italian publicationCorriere dello Sportis reporting that the 52-year-old has already committed to a club in England.
Which club that is remains unclear, although the publication refers to it as ‘a great English team’, and Allegri has been heavily linked with the Manchester United job.
United have maintained that current manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be given time to mould his side.
However, speculation of a change has never been far away given the Red Devils are loitering in eighth place in the Premier League, six points off a Champions League spot.
Solskjaeris still relatively inexperienced as a manager and has found the United job a sharp learning curve – although he has plenty of credit in the bank with United supporters given his status as a 1999 treble hero and the fact he was a fan favourite throughout his playing days.
But Allegri would bring huge experience after overseeing a period of dominance for Juventus in Italian football, having also won the Serie A title with AC Milan.
